Missouri Learning Standards, K-5 Mathematics
The full grade-level expectations from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Each strand feeds one of the four Number Plug diagnostic domains.
Number Sense & Operations in Base Ten
Number Sense & Operations- 4.NBT.AUse place value understanding for multi-digit arithmetic with numbers up to one million: round to any place, read/write numbers, compare with >, = and <, and understand 10-times relationships.
- 4.NBT.BFluently add and subtract multi-digit whole numbers, multiply up to four digits by one digit and two digits by two digits, and divide with remainders.
Number Sense & Operations in Fractions
Number Sense & Operations- 4.NF.AExtend understanding of fraction equivalence and comparison, including comparing fractions with different numerators and denominators.
- 4.NF.BBuild fractions from unit fractions: add and subtract fractions with like denominators and multiply a fraction by a whole number.
- 4.NF.CUnderstand decimal notation for fractions with denominators 10 and 100, and compare decimals to hundredths.
Relationships & Algebraic Thinking
Algebraic Thinking & Patterns- 4.RA.AUse the four operations to solve multi-step word problems, including multiplicative comparison and interpreting remainders.
- 4.RA.BGain familiarity with factors, multiples and prime and composite numbers within 100.
- 4.RA.CGenerate and analyze number and shape patterns that follow a given rule.
Geometry & Measurement
Geometry & Measurement- 4.GM.ADraw and identify points, lines, rays, angles and lines of symmetry, and classify two-dimensional figures by their properties.
- 4.GM.BUnderstand angle measurement, measure and sketch angles, and solve addition and subtraction problems with angles.
- 4.GM.CSolve problems involving measurement conversion within a system, and apply area and perimeter formulas for rectangles.
Data & Statistics
Data Analysis & Problem Solving- 4.DS.ARepresent and analyze data, including line plots with fractional measurements, and solve problems using the data.
